Supporting oncologists
in guiding patients with pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia and their caregivers
POLARIS is a set of communication tools that explains treatment of pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia to parents and children and support them from start of treatment to recovery with relevant information and guidance
About POLARIS
POLARIS is a project by the European branch of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOPE) in partnership with the European branch of Childhood Cancer International (CCI) to clarify leukemia treatment for patients and parents and guide them along the road to recovery.
The Polaris project consists of a series of post-diagnostic communication tools, including visual/graphic translations of various treatment protocols – available as in-clinic roadmaps for healthcare professionals to use when they discuss the treatment plan, as well as a series of Polaris Websites, designed to help patients and parents understand acute leukemia, it’s treatment and day-to-day guidance.
The post-diagnostic website is only available to parents and patients if the healthcare team shares the information with patients and parents, and we kindly ask you to familiarise yourself with the information and to share it with patients and parents.
